Draw Your Own Size Illusions: Step-by-Step Sheets
Draw ten classic size illusions yourself with a ruler and compass, then watch them fool you anyway. Each sheet shows the finished illusion printed at its true size, so you can check it with a ruler, then gives measured steps, a dotted practice space and a short, fact-checked explanation of the trick.
What’s inside:
- How to use the sheets (tools and print tips)
- Ten step-by-step drawing sheets, each with the finished illusion at true size, measured steps, a dotted practice area and the trick explained: the Müller-Lyer arrows, find the middle (Brentano’s version), the Ebbinghaus circles, the Delboeuf rings, the Ponzo railway, the upside-down T, the top hat, the Jastrow curves, the wavy bars and the moon on the horizon
- Bonus: invent your own illusion, with a testers’ record
- Credits, licence & sources
Pages: 14 (including cover and credits). Sizes: A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), both PDFs included in one zip.
Printing: Print at 100% / actual size on A4 or US Letter, so the drawings keep their true measurements. Inside pages use light backgrounds and print well in black and white; covers are dark, so start from page 2 to save ink.
Every fact is checked against Michael Bach’s Optical Illusions & Visual Phenomena, Encyclopaedia Britannica and the Exploratorium (checked 31 Oct 2026), and the sources are listed on each pack’s credits page.
