Planet Stats Card Game: Printable Space Cards for Kids
Which world wins? This printable card game has ten space cards: the eight planets, the Moon and Pluto. Each card has six real stats from NASA’s Planetary Fact Sheet, so every round is a little space lesson too.
The six stats on every card: width, gravity, escape speed, length of a day, average temperature and number of moons. Each card also has a “star fact”, such as which card has the longest day.
Three ways to play:
- Space Race (2 to 4 players): pick a stat from your top card. The highest number wins every top card
- Cold Snap: the same game, but the lowest number wins
- Line-up (1 player or a team): put all ten cards in order by one stat, then check against the stats table
Also included: card backs, two blank cards to make your own, a stats table of all ten cards, a 10-question card quiz with answers, and a score sheet.
Suggested ages 7 to 12. A round of Space Race takes about 15 minutes. Great for a space party, a rainy afternoon, a long journey or a classroom.
Files: one zip with the A4 PDF (9 pages), the US Letter PDF and a read-me.
Printing: print at 100% / actual size. Colour looks best, but everything works in black and white. Thin card works better than paper.
Where the facts come from: NASA’s Planetary Fact Sheet (nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov), page last updated 18 March 2025, checked 3 November 2026. Pluto’s dwarf-planet label: NASA’s Pluto page. Moon counts change as new moons are found; the cards use the counts on the Fact Sheet. Not endorsed by NASA.
