Read the Data: A Climate Graphing Workbook

Read the Data: a climate graphing workbook. Plot real carbon dioxide figures from NOAA’s Mauna Loa record and NASA’s global temperature record, read the Keeling Curve, compare the two graphs, try rate sums with NOAA’s figures, then keep a year of your own weather records.

What’s inside:

- Before you start: ppm and anomalies explained

- Graph 1: plot the Keeling Curve from NOAA’s Mauna Loa table, then answer five questions

- Why the real curve wiggles

- Graph 2: plot the temperature record from NASA’s GISTEMP table, then read the full chart

- Do the two graphs match? A side-by-side comparison

- Rate sums with NOAA’s warming rates

- My weather year: twelve month pages, a year table and a graph to draw

- Answer key

- Credits, licence & sources

Pages: 26 (including cover and credits). Sizes: A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), both PDFs included in one zip.

Printing: Print at 100% / actual size on A4 or US Letter, so nothing gets squashed. Inside pages use light backgrounds and print well in black and white; covers are dark, so start from page 2 to save ink. Fill-in pages (the weather month pages and tables) can be printed as often as you need for your own family or class.

Every fact is checked against the Met Office, NASA, NOAA, the United Nations and Encyclopaedia Britannica (checked 3 Nov 2026), and the sources are listed on each pack’s credits page. The charts are our own, drawn from NOAA and NASA data; there are no photos in this pack. Drawings, puzzles and layouts are REALLYBYTE’s own work. Not endorsed by the Met Office, NASA, NOAA, the UN or Britannica.
